Boa noite..
O leitor já ouviu falar de internet das coisas? Basicamente a idéia é que todo aparelho consiga se conectar a internet, gerando uma comunicação machine-to-machine. Algo surreal, como seu microondas trocar informações com seu carro, enquanto baixa músicas da internet, sem nenhuma interação humana.
Bem, o fato é que encontrei três links que falam desse mesmo termo e, oferecem uma dimensão do estado da arte da tecnologia.
No texto “Wireless a catalyst for ‘Internet of things’“, encontramos os seguintes parágrafos:
By 2020, 50 billion devices will connect to wireless networks (50 bilhões de dispositivos estarão conectados em redes sem fio até 2020), say some experts. But not all those devices will have human beings interacting directly with them.
We’re entering the machine-to-machine age. Researcher Berg Insight estimates that cellular network connections worldwide used for M2M communication will grow from 81.3 million connections in 2010 to 294 million connections in 2015 (comunicação M2M saltará de 81.3 milhões de conexões em 2010 para 294 milhões em 2015), a CAGR of 32%.
Sensors and smart meters can use wireless (or wired) networks to monitor, gather information, and relay it to some remote application, which can trigger some kind of event that might involve humans or not. Many of these applications are already at work, particularly in smart homes and buildings.

Depois disso encontro o texto “BMW, Porsche, others announce support for HomePlug’s EV networking spec“, disponível no Engadget. Além do título já dar uma dimensão do que eles querem fazer com os carros, vejam esta frase: The HomePlug Powerline Alliance already wants to tether your entire household to the Internet, and it may soon extend its reach to your garage, as well (A HomePlug Powerline Alliance quer colocar tudo oque você tem em casa na internet, e agora ela quer extender esse poder para sua garam). At Computex today, the company announced that Audi, BMW, Daimler, Porsche and Volkswagen have all agreed to support its HomePlug Green PHY (GP) technology as their EV charging interface of choice
